“Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light. It is not surprising, then, if his servants also masquerade as servants of righteousness. Their end will be what their actions deserve.”
Precious Children of the King,
This broadcast was on fantasy faith, believing barriers, and pretty prayers. Christianne and I understand the battles that so many of us have finding God in our circumstances. You’re not alone, many of us are having trouble finding the TRUE God in this world. It’s easy to lose our faith because we have our faith in our feelings instead of our Heavenly Father.
But can you imagine how amazing it would be to not have to see, and just know that He is God? We can believe that He is who he says He is and He will do what He says He will do. Wouldn’t it be amazing to not have our battles beat us up but make us stronger?! Wouldn’t it be amazing to breathe before the breakthrough?! That’s what this podcast is about- getting a refreshing revelation on faith and finding the real God that knows how to handle our real life circumstances!
Royal Reality Question
Why is it that even when we have the faith to believe God for something, God doesn’t answer what we have asked Him for?
The first thing I want to say about this is many times we have learned things about God, taught by well-meaning leaders, that have gone deeper into our emotions than they have into our spirit. This is because sometimes we want to believe that Jesus is a Santa Claus Savior.
Yes, God does want His children to crawl up into His lap and to tell Him all of their requests. He does want us to believe that He will give us His best. But sometimes our “Fantasy Faith” is the culprit- we have been taught to think things about faith that aren’t true, or are a twisted version of the truth. This can really keep us confused and tangled up.
Do you know what’s fun about faith? When His children believe, He loves to give us surprises! But His gifts are better than a fantasy. He does exceedingly, abundantly more than we would ever dare to dream or ask. Real faith gives God a chance to show who He really is. A faith walk with God will be beyond what you could ever imagine if you give Him the chance. But to do this, we must first believe that He is who He says He is and His word is living and active. Then allow yourself to live out His word not your worries or the words of others.
Let’s allow Him to show off by letting go of our plan, then allow His purpose to be accomplished through our lives.
We all want to see a miracle don’t we? But we don’t want to need the miracle.
So remember this truth- as my co-host, Christianne, said on the show: “In order to have a miracle, there first needs to be an impossibility. Miracles aren’t a miracle unless there is something impossible. Many of us want to witness God’s miracles, but when we see the first sign of an impossibility we jump ship or remove ourselves from the position of possibly seeing a miracle."
I know it’s hard to BELIEVE God when it doesn’t seem there’s anyway out of a heartbreaking or hard situation. But if we look at it in practical terms it’s so much harder to put ourself through all of the unnecessary internal turmoil we have as we battle our own beliefs. Wouldn’t it be a relief to surrender that all to God and trust that He is our Heavenly Father that is handling everything for us so we can have that peace that passes understanding, peace far beyond what we have when we try to see solutions or problem solve impossibilities for ourselves.
Some of our believing barriers keep us from believing that God has something more for us. Some of us have been disappointed or wounded in the past, and because of that it keeps us from believing that God could have something more for our lives.
Some of us have a “Santa Claus Savior” mentality. But To break this believing barrier, we need to have a Savior “Clause” instead- this clause can be found in John 15:7-8.
“If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.”
The clause in the word of God is that those who believe will receive. What is He asking us to believe? He’s asking us to believe His word. He’s asking us to believe that what He wants for us is so much better than what we want for ourselves. He’s asking us to believe that He has already gone before us so we can breathe. He’s asking us to believe that He will work what was intended for our evil, can instead be for our good if we trust Him with is. He’s asking us to believe He is a just God!
Don’t blindly believe what others believe. Don’t have a “second hand faith.” You also don’t want to believe everything you think, see, or hear. ALWAYS cross reference what you think, see, or hear with God’s word. If it is not confirmed by God, then don’t keep it.
Speak Faith Out Loud
Below are some examples of how you can speak faith out loud so that your mouth renews your mind with the word instead of with your worries.
Father, I trust You and I trust Your word. I will stand on your word and not on my worries in Jesus name!”
“Father, it is my privilege to submit to Your will because I know that You can control what I cannot. By faith, I will release control of my circumstance to You in whom I trust.”
Say Out Loud
“He is God and I am not. I am not going to try and play ‘junior Holy Spirit.’ Instead I ask the Holy Spirit to increase my faith.”
Ask to Hear His Voice
Jesus says that His sheep hear His voice, so be careful not to let other people’s voices or opinions cause you to put your faith in their words and not the word of God. Remember faith comes by hearing the word, not by the words of others.
Faith is Activated by Our Obedience
And let’s be real- how many times have we found out that we’re not in control of anything anyway? When we think we are in control, we waste so many days worrying about things that God has already worked out for us before we were able to see it!
Consider fasting off whatever it is that’s keeping you from being close to God. There’s something about removing anything that you crave more than Him. A fast from that thing or those things, will satisfy you in a supernatural way. When we don’t give in to every fleshly desire, the spirit comes alive.
Many people fast from food and/or water. This is great! But the point of fasting is a removal of something that grabs your time and attention in order to replace it with prayer and focus on God. What could you remove for a day or maybe even longer, that takes your time and attention? Social media is something that comes to mind, but worry is also another thing we talked about on the broadcast. Think about how much of your head space would be cleared up if every time you had a worry you prayed and gave it to God- especially right now!
What comes to me is this scripture in Hebrews 11:6 when He says without faith, my daughter, it’s impossible to please me. So the most radiant response that you can have is to know by faith that you can trust your heavenly Father. You can trust that He will work everything together for your good no matter how bad it seems. He wants you to know that if you even have the faith the size of a mustard seed He’s going to move a mountain in your life. But He’s asking for you to choose to believe Him one battle at a time. When you’re struggling with your faith think back on all the times that He was faithful to you in the past. Some of those times you may notice that things didn’t work out the way you wanted them to, instead they worked out better for the will of God to be lived out in your life and to get you closer to your Heavenly Father.
Sometimes God will give you a personal promise about something He has just for your. Be careful to have discernment about who you share His personal promises with. Some people aren’t in a place to hear about what God has shared with us personally. Think of Joseph (Genesis 37) who God gave promises to through dreams. Joseph then shared those dreams with his brothers who were NOT in a place to receive those dreams as truth because they were already very jealous of Joseph’s relationship with their father Jacob. Hearing Joseph’s dreams made his brothers angry and resentful. Joseph could have used better discernment in this situation. But even when we mess up and do something like Joseph did by sharing dreams with “dream killers”, God can still redeem our messes if we give them to Him like Joseph did.
Ask God to show you who you can help along in their battles. We cannot go about our faith journeys alone! We all must have people who are helping us along as well as people that we are helping along.
If we remain in Him and allow Him to dwell in us, we will begin seeing the fruits of the Spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, faithfulness, and self-control.
Some of us believe that our prayers will only be answered if they are “pretty prayers.” We have come to the conclusion that if we don’t know how to pray “the right way” or the same way that someone else prays, then God won’t answer our prayers.
I want to reassure you that there isn’t a certain way to pray. I know some people have a beautiful anointing and when they pray the words bring comfort even while they pray. However, prayer is just communication with our heavenly Father. He just wants to have a father daughter conversation with you and He wants you to know that everything in His word can be activated in your prayers. If you were a parent and your child called for help, you would run to the rescue. That’s how God is with us! So don’t allow yourself to be intimidated by anyone else’s prayers. You are a child of the King and you have access to your Daddy’s throne room anytime, 24/7. Now that is amazing- you have the ear of the king!
We don’t need to have “pretty prayers” but you do need to have sincere prayers. God already knows our hearts so we can’t hide from Him anyway. All He wants is our transparency. Then His truth can become the foundation of our faith.
In James 5:16 it says “The prayers of a righteous man or woman availeth much.” So let’s first go to God before we pray and say “God show me anything that is not right in me and help me to know what I need to repent of so you can hear my prayers.” Then be still, have a pad of paper and a pencil next to you, and write down what He shows you. Once you recognize what He has brought to your attention, repent of it and ask Him how He wants you to respond or react.
The Lord’s Prayer
9“This, then, is how you should pray:
“‘Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name,
your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation,[a]
but deliver us from the evil one.[b]’
In the Lord’s Prayer Jesus said to pray like this. Let’s break it down to see how we can use the Lord’s prayer as a model for praying.
1. Start with praise and worship
2. Pray for God’s will to be done
3. Pray for your needs
4. Confess your sins and ask for forgiveness
5. Ask God to help us forgive others
6. Pray for safety, protection, and deliverance from the evil one.
His Reassuring Love
“Fueled by Faith” from His Princess Every Day Devotional
My Warrior Daughter,
Faith is the only thing that will hold you together when the world around you seems to be falling apart. I want you to learn to live your life fueled by faith; there is nothing too big for Me to handle for you, My beloved. I am your God who will move a mountain if it stands in the way of My will for you. My power will be seen in your circumstance when you begin to believe I am who I say I am, and I will do as I promise. You are Mine and I hold in My hand all you will ever need. I love you, but I cannot force you to live by faith. It is your choice. Only you can make the decision to believe and experience the mighty works I want you to see.
Your Heavenly Father
Below are several scriptures for you to go deeper in the word. I pray in Jesus name, that God would speak to you as you study and meditate on the Scriptures.
Matthew 17:17 -20
We hear Jesus addressing a crowd: “And Jesus answered, ‘O faithless and twisted generation, how long am I to be with you? How long am I to bear with you? Bring him here to me.’” Jesus has been asked to help remove a demon from a boy after the disciples couldn’t do it
